WHAT happened during the Gallipoli Campaign?

I need to know WHAT happened (and just WHAT)

For example the anzacs came, something happened etc....

Please HelpWHAT happened during the Gallipoli Campaign?
The purpose of the invasion was to neutralize the Turkish forts that controlled the passage of the Dardanelles straits. The Anzac Cove landing went awry when the boats strayed off course in the pre-dawn dark and what was planned as a swift operation became a protracted and bloody eight-month struggle that claimed 8,709 ANZAC's lives. In that period the frontline of the Anzac battlefield remained little changed from the ground captured on the first day of the landing, a space less than three-quarters of a square mile (2 km虏) in size鈥攈ome to over 20,000 men.

Lest We ForgetWHAT happened during the Gallipoli Campaign?
What happened was an invasion of the heart of the ottoman empire mainly by anglosaxon armies from great britain, australia, and new zealand, with some help from the french. Though the turks were outnumbered, they managed to beat off the invaders on the beach with bayonets, and the campaign ended in disaster, although the ottoman empire was in the end destroyed and the arab countries it occupied were freed.
