Is the Palin/McCain Bill Ayers smear campaign against Obama starting to backfire?

Yet again, the Palin/McCain smear tactics speak to their choir. However, is it having an opposite effect on moderates and Independents?

(no thumbs down from me)Is the Palin/McCain Bill Ayers smear campaign against Obama starting to backfire?
I don't think so, at least not yet. The thing with negative campaigning is that no one seems to like it but it usually works..Is the Palin/McCain Bill Ayers smear campaign against Obama starting to backfire?
Whomever decided it was a good idea to have Palin attack Obama on this stuff should probably be fired for incompetence.

You can't have a candidate out there trying to link a presidential candidate to a domestic terrorist when her own husband was part of a group that wanted to secede from the United States.

Similarly, you can't have a candidiate bringing up your opponents' ';questionable'; church ties, when there's video of her standing on stage in church being blessed by a witch doctor.

I mean, seriously...what's wrong with the people running the McCain camp?
Obama's relationship with Ayers makes for legitimate discussion. Obama, a relative unknown is tied to some pretty sleazy characters. He has no record of his own to point to and little substance that an intelligent voter can judge him on.

Those that are satisfied with the chanting of ';Yes we Can'; by his cult members can make their choice based on that relationship. Others can look at Ayers, Reszko and Wright can make theirs. Is it having a negative effect on moderates and independents? I'm not sure, time will tell.
What we are seeing is a campaign that is quickly unraveling and is grasping for whatever they can to stay afloat. The truth is that we are all aware of the Ayers association because Clinton used it during the primaries. I would hope that those who are still undecided would be intelligent enough to see this strategy for exactly what it is.
Well... it doesn't help that everyone in the world KNOWS they have decided to go ';dirty'; and start slinging more mud.

Smear tactics work when they come as a surprise. They don't work as well when they are last minute (desperation) and everyone knows about them before they happen.
I hope it all goes up in smoke. That was then (in both cases), and

this is NOW. Let's see what each one intends to do for the

citizens of America from this time forward. No need harping on

their past, twenty years ago. People do mature and grow up.
Palin is the most anti-american one out there. she wants alaska to be its own. what a hypocrite. I hope Palin and Mccain know the meaning of karma. They are both liars and cheaters.
Yes. There is nothing to the Ayers scandal, but there is definately something to the Keating scandal, which we didnt talk about until McCain took the low road.
McCain reminds me of a monkey flinging poo. And he has about as much effect. He will not endear himself to independents and moderates with these attacks. He needs to give them substance, which he isn't doing.
You betcha. Especially in light of McCain's association with a known Nazi group that financially supported Iran Contra. And McCain wasn't 8 when it happened.
well apparently charles keating gave john mccain 112,000 dollars so, im not sure why this association thing had to be brought up by the mccain campaign
Nope. This may come as a shock to you leftists, but regular Americans don't like terrorists.
This is all old garbage and has no ';Gotcha'; meat to it. I think more Americans are worried about the economy right now
